A few of my favorite things…

Happy Holidays, my crafty friends!

It’s nearly mid-November and you know you don’t want that last minute Christmas pressure! Time to get started with a plan for home decor, Christmas decorating, teacher gifts, and all things crafty! With 6 kids come a lot of busy days, but I have been so blessed by Chalk Couture.

Last week we buried my dear grandfather whom I called “Papo”. It was hard to lose such an amazing soul. We tried to keep our focus on the well-lived 94 years he spent on this earth, but saying goodbye was still unexpected and still hard. We all process and grieve in different ways – mine is best spent in quiet moments with Jesus and in reflecting on my thoughts while listening to faith-filled music. I turned on my music last week and spent a couple days crafting late into the night. The tears came and went as I thought through the good times spent with my Grandpa. And crafting proved to be a welcome outlet – a true source of joy and even a bit therapeutic as I worked through unfinished projects in my craft room.

Sometimes I struggle with ideas. Sometimes I just don’t think what I create is “good enough”. But this time I was able to let the thoughts and ideas roll as I worked on a multitude of items in preparation for an upcoming craft event.

Here are a few of my favorite things… partially inspired by fond memories of my Grandpa. I don’t know that he was the crafty type, but he had a gentle spirit and worked hard to achieve his goals. And he could draw a pretty good stick horse.

Love and blessings,

Robin
